We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our team on a contract basis in Hamilton, New Jersey. This role involves providing support in probate and surrogate court matters, including drafting legal documents, filing formal pleadings, and managing court processes. The ideal candidate has prior experience in a law firm and is skilled in handling intricate legal tasks with precision and professionalism.
Job Responsibility:
Draft and file formal pleadings with the court to support client discharge processes
Organize and assemble legal documentation required for court filings and hearings
Serve legal documents to relevant parties, including relatives and other interested individuals
Track court hearing schedules and monitor deadlines for responses and filings
Collaborate extensively with surrogate and probate court staff to facilitate case management
Maintain accurate records of legal proceedings and communication
Assist in trial preparation, ensuring all necessary materials and evidence are prepared
Utilize case management software to streamline litigation processes
Provide support in civil litigation and discovery tasks as needed
Handle probate and estate administration with attention to detail and compliance with legal standards
Requirements:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Paralegal, preferably in a law firm
Proficiency in working with surrogate and probate courts, including familiarity with chancery court processes
Strong knowledge of probate law, litigation, and estate administration
Ability to draft pleadings and legal documents with accuracy and attention to detail
Experience using case management software to organize and track legal cases
Excellent organizational skills to manage hearing dates, deadlines, and case records
Effective communication skills to interact with court staff, clients, and other parties
Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
