We are looking for a detail-oriented Paralegal to join a legal team in Fort Worth, Texas on a contract basis with the potential for a permanent position. In this role, you will provide direct support to three attorneys with estate planning, probate, and guardianship matters, helping move cases forward accurately and efficiently. This opportunity is well suited for someone who is comfortable managing court filings, preparing legal documents, and coordinating deadlines in a fast-paced practice.
Job Responsibility:
Draft probate-related filings and supporting documents for matters involving wills, estate administration, heirship proceedings, and executor appointments
Prepare inventories and other case materials required for probate administration and submit documentation within established timelines
Create first drafts of estate planning documents such as trusts, wills, powers of attorney, physician directives, and guardian designations under attorney guidance
File pleadings and related materials through applicable electronic court systems and monitor submissions for accuracy and completion
Coordinate with court personnel to arrange hearings and prepare confirmation correspondence for scheduled proceedings
Review estate planning packets for completeness, formatting, and consistency before attorney finalization and client distribution
Assemble guardianship filings, including applications, orders, and other routine documents needed for court proceedings
Prepare client-facing correspondence, including engagement letters, summary letters, transmittal communications, and maintain organized case files
Requirements:
Experience supporting attorneys in estate planning, probate, or guardianship matters within a legal practice
Ability to prepare and manage legal documents with strong attention to detail and accuracy
Familiarity with court filing procedures, including electronic filing platforms and hearing scheduling
Strong organizational skills with the ability to track multiple matters, deadlines, and document versions simultaneously
Proficiency in proofreading legal materials and producing clear correspondence and forms
Comfortable working in a team environment while providing direct support to multiple attorneys
Experience with case management software and a general understanding of litigation-related processes is preferred
