We are looking for a Paralegal with strong attention to detail to join our client's team in Bowie, Maryland. In this role, you will provide critical support to the Land and Legal Departments, assisting with transactional coordination, document preparation, due diligence, database management, and closing processes. This position requires strong organizational abilities, excellent communication skills, and the capacity to manage multiple real estate acquisition files simultaneously.
Job Responsibility:
Draft, review, and format land agreements, purchase contracts, easements, and related documents in collaboration with the Legal Department
Assist the Land Team in contracting land for environmental restoration projects, including assembling document packages and preparing exhibits
Coordinate and track due diligence efforts, such as title commitments, feasibility studies, and environmental assessments, ensuring timely completion of all tasks
Organize and prepare closing checklists while overseeing the completion of required documents with internal teams, title companies, and external stakeholders
Maintain accurate and organized files for acquisition matters, ensuring proper document version control and compliance with deadlines
Track and manage project schedules, study periods, and deadlines related to real estate transactions, hosting regular meetings to review action items
Support marketing efforts by formatting and distributing letters to landowners, ensuring a high-quality presentation
Update and maintain the Land Database to track prospects, contracts, and progress on due diligence and closings
Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure compliance with contract deadlines and legal obligations
Provide administrative support to the Legal Department, including monitoring and responding to priorities across multiple projects
Requirements:
Proven ability to manage deadlines, organize workflows, and adapt to shifting priorities
Strong communication skills with a team-oriented approach to collaborating with colleagues and external partners
Exceptional attention to detail in both written and verbal communication
Demonstrated aptitude for reading, interpreting, and summarizing legal and real estate documents such as contracts, title commitments, and easements
Experience coordinating real estate closings with title companies, legal counsel, and internal teams
Advanced proficiency in Adobe, Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, and familiarity with document management systems
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
Paralegal certification or equivalent legal experience strongly desired
2–7+ years of experience in real estate, transactional law, or land acquisition support
