Job Responsibility:

  • Manage casework throughout all phases of litigation, including pre-litigation investigations, discovery, motions, trial preparation, and post-trial procedures.
  • Draft and prepare legal documents such as pleadings, motions, subpoenas, discovery requests, responses, and correspondence, adhering to federal and state court guidelines.
  • Organize and oversee document production, review, and indexing in both electronic and physical formats.
  • Maintain case calendars, track deadlines, and manage court appearance schedules and filing requirements.
  • Assist in depositions, prepare witnesses, and coordinate trial logistics, including the creation of trial binders and exhibits.
  • Conduct thorough legal and factual research, including cite-checking and database analysis.
  • Serve as a liaison with attorneys, clients, opposing counsel, court staff, and external vendors to ensure smooth communication and coordination.
  • Prepare trial materials, demonstrative exhibits, and witness lists to support court proceedings.
  • Support attorneys with settlement documentation, appellate filings, and post-trial matters.
  • Ensure compliance with firm policies regarding document retention, confidentiality, and file integrity.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience as a paralegal, with a strong background in litigation.
  • Proficiency in discovery processes and civil litigation procedures.
  • Experience in trial preparation, including managing exhibits and witness coordination.
  • Familiarity with case management software and other legal tools.
  • Knowledge of complex commercial litigation and business litigation practices.
  • Expertise in defense litigation, including employment and insurance defense cases.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
  • Oversee records management and maintaining Excel charts to track the stats of voluminous records.
