We are looking for an experienced Paralegal to join our dynamic team in West Hartford area of Connecticut. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to contract review, litigation support, and compliance management. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail and legal expertise, ensuring smooth operations within a fast-paced legal department.
Job Responsibility:
Conduct thorough reviews of owner contracts, prepare contract summaries, and facilitate execution processes
Assist in the organization and modification of subcontract, purchase order templates, and related documents
Support the procurement of bonds, project insurance, and builder’s risk insurance as needed
Review and negotiate third-party agreements, process credit applications, and prepare notice letters
Track legal reviews for proposals, analyze bid terms, and contribute to qualification statements
Provide litigation support, including managing discovery responses, coordinating witness schedules, and filing pleadings
Oversee licensing and registration tasks, such as federal and state registrations, contractor licensing, and business permits
Maintain corporate documents, consents, and records while supporting trade organization renewals and registrations
Assist in risk mitigation and compliance audits by developing parameters and conducting background research
Organize legal department administrative tasks including calendar coordination, expense tracking, and document preparation
Requirements:
Proven experience in contract review and negotiation, preferably within the construction industry
Strong knowledge of litigation processes and ability to manage discovery and filing tasks
Familiarity with licensing, registration, and compliance requirements at federal, state, and local levels
Proficient in corporate documentation and record maintenance
Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong written and verbal communication abilities
Proficient in legal research and analysis
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in legal studies or a related field preferred
