We are looking for a detail-oriented Paralegal to join our team on a contract basis in Lake Forest, Illinois. In this role, you will provide essential legal support through a combination of administrative and paralegal responsibilities, ensuring smooth operations and high-quality assistance to attorneys. This position requires a strong understanding of litigation processes and excellent organizational skills to manage complex legal documentation and client interactions.
Job Responsibility:
Coordinate and manage court filings, calendaring, and scheduling meetings with precision
Handle communication with clients, providing empathetic and attentive customer service
Assist with document collection and preparation, ensuring accuracy and completeness
Organize and manage large-scale document productions for litigation cases
Draft motions, pleadings, letters, and other legal documents for discovery purposes
Conduct tracings for statements and follow up on requests to ensure timely responses
Navigate legal forms and templates, identifying appropriate edits and applications for specific situations
Support attorneys in managing financial affidavits and case-related documentation
Utilize case management software, such as Clio, to maintain efficient workflows and records
Demonstrate a solid understanding of civil litigation and family law procedures
Requirements:
Proven experience in both legal assistant and paralegal roles
Strong knowledge of discovery processes and civil litigation
Proficiency in using case management software, with Clio experience preferred
Ability to draft motions, pleadings, and other legal documents accurately
Familiarity with family law and litigation procedures
Excellent organizational skills to manage calendaring and document handling
Strong communication skills, including empathy when dealing with stressed or upset clients
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced legal environment
