We are looking for a detail-oriented (2+ yrs) Paralegal to support legal matters, such as family law and/or discrimination-related, for a *FULLY REMOTE* Contract position with our client who is based in Purchase, New York. This role focuses on case organization, document review, and preparation for mediation and settlement activity across a general practice environment. The ideal candidate brings prior paralegal experience, exercises sound judgment with confidential information, and works effectively under direction while managing multiple priorities.
Job Responsibility:
Assemble and prepare documentation needed for mediation sessions and settlement discussions, ensuring materials are complete and well organized
Examine discovery records carefully and sort supporting documents so attorneys can access relevant evidence efficiently
Provide day-to-day assistance with case preparation, including maintaining files, tracking deadlines, and coordinating legal documents
Support attorneys with administrative and legal tasks as assigned to help move matters forward in a timely manner
Organize case information within case management tools and maintain accurate, up-to-date records for active matters
Help compile exhibits, summaries, and supporting materials for litigation-related proceedings and attorney review
Requirements:
At least 2 years of paralegal experience, preferably within a general practice legal setting
Familiarity with family law (such as custody or child support) and/or discrimination-related matters, including EEOC cases, is required
Working knowledge of discovery processes, civil litigation, and trial preparation activities
Ability to follow instructions closely, prioritize assignments, and complete work efficiently
Strong discretion and professionalism when handling confidential or sensitive legal matters
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple files and deadlines at once
Clear written and verbal communication skills for effective coordination with attorneys and legal staff
Experience using case management software and other legal support tools is preferred
