Job Responsibility
Provide direct support to the Mexico Legal Consultant and the broader Legal team on various aspects of Arrive’s operations in Mexico and cross-border operations into and out of Mexico
Assist with contract review, drafting support and translation of commercial and operational documentation
Support corporate and commercial matters, including corporate structuring, governance and the maintenance of corporate books and records for Arrive’s Mexican legal entity
Assist with the preparation, coordination and documentation of members and shareholders meetings, including resolutions and related corporate filings
Prepare, track and manage powers of attorney, including coordination with notaries and external legal counsel as needed
Assist with KYC matters and customer and carrier onboarding, as well as carrier compliance matters, claims matters, employee matters, immigration matters and the like
Work on a wide variety of special projects for the Mexico Legal Consultant, as assigned
This position does not entail the provision of legal advice as a licensed attorney, lawyer or legal counsel
Requirements
Fluency to a business level in written and spoken English and native level in written and spoken Mexican Spanish
Law studies (pasante de Derecho), or equivalent legal support background, with hands-on experience gained at notary offices (notarías), law firms (despachos) and/or in-house legal teams. A professional license to practice law (cédula profesional) is not required
3+ years of experience in a corporate/commercial legal support role
Experience dealing with a wide variety of Mexican corporate and commercial legal matters
Working knowledge of the Ley General de Sociedades Mercantiles and experience coordinating with notaries (Notarias Públicas) on corporate filings and powers of attorney
Meticulously detail oriented
Contracts knowledge and a general understanding of company operations, organization, and procedures
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent time management, task tracking, organization and follow-up skills
Comfortable working with highly confidential information
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with all levels of management
Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively across the Legal team and other departments
Proficient with standard office software, including Microsoft Word and Excel and/or Google Sheets
