Plaintiff firm is seeking a Paralegal to join their litigation team in Oakland, California. Job Responsibility:
Draft and proofread legal documents such as discovery requests, motions, memoranda, and correspondence
Maintain and organize case files, ensuring deadlines are calendared and court appearances are scheduled accurately
Prepare materials for motions and trials, including exhibits and evidence
Review and analyze case files, medical records, and other pertinent documents
Serve as a point of contact for clients, expert witnesses, and other key parties
Ensure all filings and processes comply with local, state, and federal court rules
Coordinate attorney schedules and assist in managing daily workflows
Conduct legal research to support case preparation and strategy
Utilize case management software to track and manage case progress effectively
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred
Paralegal certification is highly desirable
A minimum of 2 years of experience in litigation, ideally within personal injury law
Strong knowledge of California Discovery Code and Federal practice and procedures
Proficiency with legal tools such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Trial Director, and case management software
Ability to interpret and apply procedural codes and court rules accurately
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail
