Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our team in Prairie Village, Kansas. In this role, you will provide essential support in civil litigation defense, insurance defense, and other legal matters such as employment and construction litigation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in litigation and case management to contribute to a dynamic legal team.

Job Responsibility:

  • Conduct thorough legal research and assist with drafting documents related to civil litigation defense, insurance defense, and other legal matters
  • Manage discovery processes, including organizing and reviewing evidence, and preparing responses
  • Support attorneys in trial preparation by gathering materials, coordinating witness schedules, and drafting trial briefs
  • Maintain and update case files using case management software to ensure accurate record-keeping
  • Analyze insurance coverage issues and prepare reports or summaries for attorney review
  • Collaborate with attorneys to identify case strategies and ensure efficient workflow
  • Communicate effectively with clients, witnesses, and other parties involved in legal proceedings
  • Monitor deadlines and ensure all filings and submissions are completed in a timely manner
  • Assist in preparing contracts and other legal documents related to employment and construction litigation
  • Stay informed about changes in laws and regulations relevant to the practice areas

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Paralegal, preferably in civil litigation or related fields
  • Proficiency in discovery processes, including organizing and reviewing evidence
  • Strong knowledge of civil litigation procedures and trial preparation techniques
  • Experience working with case management software to track and manage legal cases
  • Familiarity with insurance defense and coverage issues
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple cases efficiently
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with clients, witnesses, and legal professionals
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and adapt to a fast-paced environment
