This friendly team are looking for a Paralegal to join them and provide support with a variety of tasks and duties. The role also offers the potential for firm-supported study towards the SQE, providing an excellent opportunity to develop your skills while progressing towards qualification as a solicitor.
Job Responsibility
Researching legal issues on behalf of other fee earners
Preparing letters, agreements and document bundles for fee earners as required
Carrying out due diligence such as drafting questionnaires, checking companies house records for any discrepancies and data room creation and management
Following the process through to completion such as preparing completion statements, bankruptcy/insolvency searches, preparing payment forms for both the client and the seller's solicitors and creating Docusign envelopes
Liaising with both HMRC and clients re stamp duty
Carrying out Client ID verification such as smartsearch
Preparing regular WIP updates for clients
Efficient management of client/matter files to include general filing, file opening, preparation of client care letters and terms and conditions, file closure and archiving
Liaise with clients via telephone and email including verifying their bank details
Researching potential clients and preparing structure charts
Attend client meetings both in person and on the telephone, as requested by the fee earner
Attend meetings and take notes as required
Carrying out Business Development tasks such as attending events and booking hotels, trains etc for the team
Administrative tasks such as keeping documents updated, preparing bills and sending these to clients, maintaining all the team's diaries, processing expenses and mileage claims on behalf of the team
Undertaking any other duties as required
Requirements
Law Degree
Proficient with Microsoft Office programmes
