Job Responsibility:
Prepare, edit, and proofread a variety of documents (correspondence, agreements and pleadings)
Work with attorneys to keep litigation advancing in each case
including taking the initiative to regularly update team members on the status of cases and quickly alerting attorneys to important client and case needs
Assist attorneys with discovery, including discovery requests, depositions and issuing subpoenas
Assist with document review and analysis through various platforms
Manage electronic case files using a document management system (iManage) to ensure information is organized and easy to locate
Prepare for trial (including compiling trial materials, coordinating witnesses, preparing and issuing trial subpoenas, preparing and managing exhibits, attending trial)
MUST know how to prepare a war room
Other tasks as assigned.
Requirements:

Comfortable with learning new technology and processes
Ability to travel nationwide to attend trial
Must be familiar with and able to follow client billing guidelines, enter and record accurate billing entries
Ability to lift 30 lbs (files and boxes)
A bachelor’s degree, Paralegal Certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience
5+ years’ litigation law firm experience (defense experience preferred)
Must be willing and able to travel to trials both in and out of Texas. Some trials can last up to 6-8 weeks.
