Job Description:

Our paralegals are integral to our case teams, appreciated for their ideas and contributions. We offer a casual, fun, and collaborative office environment with excellent opportunities for mentorship. This position is hybrid, allowing for a balance of work-from home and in-office workdays.

Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare, edit, and proofread a variety of documents (correspondence, agreements and pleadings)
  • Work with attorneys to keep litigation advancing in each case
  • including taking the initiative to regularly update team members on the status of cases and quickly alerting attorneys to important client and case needs
  • Assist attorneys with discovery, including discovery requests, depositions and issuing subpoenas
  • Assist with document review and analysis through various platforms
  • Manage electronic case files using a document management system (iManage) to ensure information is organized and easy to locate
  • Prepare for trial (including compiling trial materials, coordinating witnesses, preparing and issuing trial subpoenas, preparing and managing exhibits, attending trial)
  • MUST know how to prepare a war room
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Ability to travel nationwide to attend trial
  • Must be familiar with and able to follow client billing guidelines, enter and record accurate billing entries
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs (files and boxes)
  • A bachelor’s degree, Paralegal Certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years’ litigation law firm experience (defense experience preferred)
  • Must be willing and able to travel to trials both in and out of Texas. Some trials can last up to 6-8 weeks.
