We are looking for a detail-oriented Paralegal to join a growing trusts and estates practice in California on a contract-to-permanent basis. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with attorneys on trust administration and litigation matters, helping keep files organized, deadlines on track, and cases progressing efficiently. The ideal candidate brings strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple matters in a structured legal environment.
Job Responsibility:
Guide trust administration matters through each stage, from opening files to supporting final asset distribution
Draft and assemble notices, inventories, correspondence, and other case-related documentation required for trusts and estate matters
Maintain litigation and administration calendars by monitoring filing dates, hearings, and other critical deadlines
Partner with clients to gather financial records, estate information, and supporting documents needed for active matters
Support discovery efforts by organizing responses, preparing document productions, and assisting with interrogatories and related requests
Coordinate filings, service of documents, and other procedural steps to help matters move forward smoothly
Prepare exhibits, case materials, and binders for mediation, hearings, and trial preparation
Keep electronic case files current and well organized in case management platforms while ensuring next steps are clearly documented
Work with attorneys and staff to follow established workflows, maintain consistency across matters, and support firm procedures
Requirements:
At least 3 years of paralegal experience, preferably within trusts and estates, probate, or civil litigation
Working knowledge of discovery processes, litigation support, and trial preparation activities
Ability to manage multiple active matters while maintaining accuracy and close attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with attorneys, clients, and internal staff
Experience tracking court dates, deadlines, and case milestones in a fast-paced legal setting
Comfort working independently while following defined processes and established legal workflows
Proficiency with Clio or comparable case management software is preferred
