We are looking for a detail-oriented Paralegal to support legal operations for a services organization in Miami, Florida. This contract opportunity is ideal for someone who is comfortable working independently, managing a steady daily workload, and producing accurate legal documentation in a deadline-driven environment. The role focuses on reviewing court records, analyzing case-related filings, and preparing clear written instructions based on research findings while maintaining a high standard of organization and precision.
Job Responsibility:
Manage a consistent daily volume of release-related assignments and complete work within established productivity expectations, including billing at least 7 hours per day
Examine court dockets to locate, retrieve, and review filings that are relevant to active matters
Assess Final Judgments and perform bankruptcy-related research when needed to confirm legal status and support next steps
Prepare concise, accurate release instructions for client delivery, subject to supervisory review before submission
Document key findings uncovered during legal research, especially when case files contain discrepancies or unusual circumstances
Review Notices of Dissolution and connect them to the appropriate garnishment matters to ensure proper handling
Bring irregular pleadings, conflicting information, or other exceptions to the supervisor's attention for further evaluation
Maintain well-organized records and uphold accuracy across all case documentation and supporting materials.
Requirements:
At least 3 years of paralegal experience, preferably in a civil litigation environment
Working knowledge of court pleadings, legal terminology, and docket review procedures
Ability to read and interpret legal documents carefully and identify inconsistencies or missing information
Experience conducting bankruptcy searches as part of case research and analysis
Strong written communication skills with the ability to summarize findings and draft clear legal instructions
High level of attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate documentation
Ability to work independently in a remote setting while meeting daily productivity and time-billing expectations.
