We are looking for an experienced Paralegal to join an established legal team in Westlake Village, California. This role focuses on trust administration and probate, requiring strong organizational skills and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment and be comfortable managing multiple ongoing matters efficiently.
Job Responsibility:
Handle trust administration and probate cases, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all required tasks
Prepare and file necessary legal documents, including Form 706, to support post-death trust administration
Monitor the progress of active cases, ensuring no matters are left stagnant and deadlines are met
Collaborate with team members to streamline case management and reduce stress for clients
Maintain meticulous records for all open cases, tracking updates and ensuring compliance with legal requirements
Ensure billable hour requirements are met, contributing to the firm's operational goals
Communicate effectively with clients and other stakeholders to address inquiries and provide updates
Assist in maintaining a positive, organized workflow in a small office setting
Provide support in managing the firm’s trust and estate matters, which include approximately 200 active cases
Work closely with the principal and support staff to achieve firm objectives
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in trust administration and probate work
Certification as a paralegal, with a strong understanding of estate and probate law
Proven ability to prepare and file Form 706 and other relevant legal documents
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
Comfortable working in a small, collaborative office environment
Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with clients and team members
Proficiency with legal case tracking and management systems
