Job Description:

Apex Systems is looking to hire a HYBRID Paralegal Project Coordinator for our client based out of North Carolina. This position operates mostly remotely, but requires candidates to be located in North Carolina for periodic onsite collaboration. This assignment is anticipated to be a 6‑month contract with strong potential for extension; however, Apex Systems cannot guarantee the length of this assignment. This will also have a first‑shift Monday–Friday schedule.

Job Responsibility:

  • Coordinate and track legal‑related project activities, ensuring deadlines, deliverables, and documentation requirements are met
  • Support attorneys and project managers by organizing case materials, maintaining databases, and preparing summaries or status updates
  • Assist with managing workflows related to document handling, review tasks, and operational processes
  • Communicate with internal teams to ensure clarity on timelines, priorities, and dependencies across multiple matters
  • Maintain accuracy and organization of legal documents, correspondence, and project files
  • Assist with matter setup, data tracking, and task distribution for ongoing legal or technical projects
  • Provide administrative and project coordination support related to technology‑driven workflows such as document tracking or client communications
  • Participate in meetings, take concise notes, and follow up on action items to ensure progress continues smoothly
  • Contribute to process improvements, documentation standardization, and streamlined work practices
  • Support cross‑functional collaboration across legal, operations, and project teams

Requirements:

  • Experience working as a paralegal, legal assistant, or in a legal operations role
  • Prior background in project coordination, task management, or workflow support within a professional services environment
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple cases or projects
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to interact professionally with attorneys, clients, and internal stakeholders
  • Comfort working with legal documents, databases, and structured workflows
  • Ability to quickly learn various tools, systems, and technology platforms used in legal or project‑oriented environments

Experience supporting legal technology, document workflows, or compliance processes is a plus
