Job Description

AMD is seeking an experienced legal professional to support direct and indirect materials contracting while serving as a key operational partner within the Procurement Legal function. This role reports to the Senior Director – Global Operations and Procurement. This is a fast-paced, high-trust role requiring strong judgment and the ability to manage a high volume of work with minimal supervision. You will balance legal risk, business priorities, and speed while supporting procurement contracting and enabling efficient legal operations. In addition to hands-on contracting, this role supports intake governance, practice management, and process improvements that help scale the function effectively.

Job Responsibility

  • Draft, review, negotiate, and manage procurement-related agreements (e.g., direct materials, GSAs, SOWs, SaaS, and services)
  • Manage low- to mid-complexity contracts, escalating higher-risk issues as needed
  • Apply sound legal and commercial judgment to support business objectives while protecting AMD’s interests
  • Partner cross-functionally with Procurement, Operations, Finance, IT, Privacy, and Compliance
  • Manage legal intake, ensuring requests are complete and properly routed
  • Determine appropriate level of legal review and serve as a first-line risk filter
  • Support adherence to policies, approval frameworks, and signature authority requirements
  • Assist with end-of-quarter contract review processes
  • Maintain templates, playbooks, and contracting standards
  • Ensure data accuracy across trackers, CLM systems, and reporting
  • Support reporting on deal status and key metrics
  • Identify and implement process improvements across intake and contracting workflows
  • Provide guidance to business teams to improve contracting practices and reduce rework
  • Support use of automation and AI tools to improve efficiency and consistency

Requirements

  • Paralegal certificate preferred, or equivalent professional experience
  • Experience in commercial contracting, procurement agreements, or legal operations
  • Understanding of contract structures (MSA, SOW, PO) and procurement lifecycle
  • Ability to manage high-volume work with minimal supervision
  • Strong judgment and ability to make decisions in real time
  • Familiarity with IP, privacy, and data-related considerations
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Experience with CLM tools, trackers, or reporting systems
