We are looking for an experienced Paralegal/Legal Secretary/Legal Admin to join our fast-paced legal team in Glendale, California. This contract position offers the opportunity to work closely with attorneys specializing in plaintiff-side wage and hour class action litigation. The ideal candidate will excel in managing legal tasks independently, possess strong organizational skills, and thrive in a team-oriented environment.
Job Responsibility:
Draft and finalize legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and discovery materials, for attorney review and submission
Perform electronic filing of motions and pleadings in both state and federal courts
Maintain and manage litigation calendars, ensuring deadlines and case schedules are met
Format, proofread, and prepare legal documents for submission while adhering to court requirements
Assist in drafting initial discovery and motion documents to support case preparation
Collaborate on trial preparation tasks, recognizing that most cases settle before reaching trial
Utilize legal matter management platforms, such as Litify, to organize case documentation and workflows
Provide administrative assistance to attorneys within a pooled support staff structure, ensuring efficient team operations
Adapt quickly to changing priorities and contribute to the success of the litigation team
Requirements:
Demonstrated experience in civil litigation
Proficiency with state and federal electronic filing systems
Strong legal administrative skills, including document formatting and proofing
Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently with minimal supervision
Experience working within collaborative legal support teams
Familiarity with legal technology tools
Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities
Nice to have:
Plaintiff-side experience
Knowledge of Litify or similar platforms
Background in wage and hour or class action litigation
