Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Paralegal/Legal Assistant to support the General Counsel in various legal tasks. This position is based in West Palm Beach, Florida and offers the opportunity to contribute to important legal proceedings and case management. As a Contract to permanent role, this position provides the potential for long-term career growth within a dynamic legal environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Draft pleadings, memos, and correspondence for review by the General Counsel
  • Conduct legal research to analyze statutes, regulations, and rules relevant to bankruptcy and litigation cases
  • Prepare and process legal documents related to bankruptcy filings particularly chapter 13, and litigation matters
  • Utilize legal case management software to organize documents and monitor case progress
  • Collaborate with the General Counsel to ensure accurate and timely handling of case-related tasks
  • Maintain meticulous records and documentation to support legal proceedings
  • Stay informed about procedural changes and legal updates impacting case management
  • Provide proactive support in addressing client concerns and resolving issues
  • Communicate complex legal concepts effectively to internal and external stakeholders
  • Offer constructive feedback and collaborate with team members to achieve operational excellence

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years’ experience in bankruptcy, chapter 13 and litigation-related legal work
  • Certification in paralegal studies required, with potential to obtain certification within 36 months of employment
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • an associate's degree with relevant experience will be considered
  • Proficiency in legal case management software and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong skills in drafting legal documents, including pleadings, memos, and letters
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough legal research and analysis
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to procedural changes and thrive in a fast-paced environment
