As a Paralegal within our Court of Protection team, you will support solicitors and partners on a wide range of matters relating to vulnerable clients who lack capacity. Job Responsibility
Supporting fee earners with the day-to-day management of Court of Protection files
Drafting correspondence, legal documents, and preparing court bundles
Liaising with clients, families, case managers, medical professionals, and other stakeholders
Assisting with deputyship matters, including financial administration and reporting
Managing new enquiries and communicating effectively with clients and third parties
Organising meetings, appointments, and attending where appropriate
Ensuring files are maintained in line with regulatory and compliance requirements
Assisting with billing, time recording, and general administrative tasks
Contributing to team development and identifying cross-referral opportunities
Requirements
5 GCSEs including English and Maths (grade C/4 or above)
A Law degree (ideally 2:1 or above) or relevant equivalent experience
Strong administrative and organisational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Confidence using IT systems and the ability to learn new technology
The ability to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines
A professional and compassionate approach when dealing with sensitive matters
Nice to have
Previous experience in Court of Protection, private client, or a similar area
Understanding of mental capacity law and deputyship work
Experience using case management systems
Knowledge of compliance and client care procedures
