We are delighted to announce that we are looking for Paralegal’s to join us in Birmingham on a permanent basis. We are looking for Paralegals to join our specialist insurance litigation teams at CSG. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your legal skills, knowledge and career in across our Motor Recoveries, Property Recoveries, Property Subsidence and Motor Injury teams. About the teams: Motor Recoveries and Property Recoveries team cover a range of insurance issues including: RTA, impact, escape of water, escape of oil, product liability, defective premises, accidental damage, fire, contribution or enforcement. A recovery claim is challenged on a number of grounds including liability, causation and quantum. As part of the small claim centre of excellence, you will progress your own cases through pre-action and litigation. As part of the recoveries (DA) team, you will handle your own caseload of Fast & Multi-Track matters, including liability disputes and a variety of litigated and pre-litigated work. Joining our teams will give you the opportunity to build on your experience, legal knowledge and career within a supportive team and an ambitious firm. Our Property Subsidence team handles a mix of claims from tree root damage, to tree failures and Knotweed cases, covering subrogated recoveries, mitigation, TPO, liability and coverage. This is a highly specialised area of law and are offering the opportunity to invest time in developing you into a specialist in this field. Our Motor Injury team deals specifically with motor injury claims of all values and complexities. We have a progressive approach and a market leading reputation for not just simply tackling litigation, but also for tracking and analysing behaviours and trends with a view to providing our clients with bespoke strategies and analysis of changing market behaviours. This role will be situated in Birmingham, where you will be asked to come into the office 5 times a week during your probation period. After successfully passing probation you may move to a hybrid working pattern. What you will do? As a Paralegal at CSG you are expected to provide a timely, professional and high-quality service to our clients in the management of pre-litigated and litigated recovery cases. Depending on your role, and with the support of a supervisor and team manager you will be expected to: Screen matters for prospects and liaise with clients upon receipt of instructions. Review instructions and provide client advice on case prospects. Be responsible for a varied caseload of pre-litigated and litigated work. Assess liability and quantum and develop an appropriate strategy for the case. Resolve claims through negotiation and litigation within client service standards. Instruct experts and counsel, draft Witness Statements and other Court documents. Maintain contact with our clients and their Customers whilst proactively managing their expectations.
