Must have active DoD Clearance and be a US Citizen that will utilize prior military or shipyard experience to execute all tasks
Job Responsibility:
Use power tools, hand tools, or chemicals to accomplish cleaning of surfaces prior to applying coating systems
Prepare surfaces, mask unpainted areas, sandblasted surfaces, select the methods of coating application and provides suitable curing conditions
Interpret paint schedules, calculate surface areas, estimate the amount of materials required, test the grade, viscosity and fineness of the paint, and perform final quality inspections
Apply, remove and dispose of paint, paint waste or residuals and lead paint waste in accordance with OSHA requirements, Federal and State laws as well as Navy procedures while meeting environmental requirements
Requirements:
U.S. Citizenship and Active DoD Secret Clearance
High School diploma or GED
Candidates must be able to work at extreme heights or small confined spaces
Must be able to kneel, squat, crawl, bend, stoop, and climb
Must be able to lift 40 lbs. and must take and pass a respirator fit test
Must be able to work assigned shift as production needs
Must be able to work indoors/outdoors year round
Must be able to pass a Physical Agility Test
Candidates must have minimum of 2+ years paint experience
Must provide up to 7 years of work history (if applicable) and all relevant paint experienced
All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation
