Job Responsibility

  • Complete painting and decorating projects with precision and attention to detail, maintaining high standards of quality
  • Carry out regular maintenance and touch-up work to ensure the hotel’s interior and exterior surfaces remain in excellent condition
  • Maintain and/or replace grouting and caulking as required with expert quality
  • Coordinate with departments such as Front Office and Housekeeping to schedule projects with minimal disruption to operations and guest experience
  • Maintain an organized inventory of paints, tools, and equipment, coordinating with Purchasing to reorder supplies as required
  • Follow all safety regulations when working with paints, chemicals, ladders, scaffolding, and other equipment to maintain a safe working environment
  • All other duties as assigned by leadership

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of professional painting experience (commercial, residential, or hospitality)
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Good communication skills with engineering/maintenance staff and hotel leadership
  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
  • Customer-service mindset when working near guests or in occupied areas
  • Experience with interior and exterior painting techniques

  • Paints surfaces, using brushes or paint rollers
  • Smooth surfaces using sandpaper, brushes, or steel wool
  • Remove old paint from surfaces using paint remover, scraper, and wire brush to prepare surfaces for painting
  • Fill nail holes, cracks, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other filler using caulking gun and putty knife
  • Remove fixtures, such as pictures, door knobs, switch/outlet covers, fire alarm covers, etc from walls prior to painting
  • Spread drop cloths over floors, room furnishings, and covers surfaces with masking tape and paper to protect surfaces during painting. Use a ladder to perform tasks above ground level
  • Wash surfaces prior to painting with mildew remover as needed
  • May be assigned to wear a respirator
  • May perform other duties as assigned
