Painter

• Responding to routine and emergency service requests via on‑line work order, radio dispatch or as assigned by Group Leader/Supervisor
• Planning assigned work by examining work site and project specifications, selecting and obtaining needed equipment and materials and determining appropriate sequence of tasks
• Preparing work site for painting and/or refinishing
• Painting and refinishing interior and exterior building surfaces, trimmings, furniture and equipment according to specifications
• Maintaining communication with other engineering department personnel in order to plan and coordinate work assignments
• Communicating with customer departments as needed to clarify job specifications and minimize any disruption of department services/operations
• Completing, filing and/or routes a variety of logs and records required to document work performed
• Maintaining neatness and safety of work area
• Maintaining technical knowledge and skills through attendance at in service and continuing education programs
• Contributing to teamwork.

• A High School diploma or GED
• Up to 1 year of basic technical training and 2 years’ experience
• 3 to 4 years of facilities experience preferred
• Prior knowledge of building codes, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems.
