Job Responsibility:

  • Plans and performs all necessary preparation and painting refinishing buildings (interior and exterior), furniture and equipment
  • Mixes paints to desired color, shade and consistency using proportions of pigment, base and thinner
  • Prepares and applies stains for furniture
  • Prepares surfaces properly for painting (wash, scrape, wire brush, etc.)
  • Applies paint enamels, etc. to proper thickness, using brush, roller or spray
  • Refinishes wood floors
  • Erects and dismantles scaffolding
  • Lays drop cloths to protect floors and furniture from paint splattering
  • moves furniture as necessary
  • Cleans area after painting: cleans brushes and other painting equipment
  • Performs other special duties requiring comparable skill and responsibility as directed by supervision
  • May guide the work of Painter-B

Requirements:
