Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Painter who is highly motivated and detail-oriented to join our Engineering team. Responsibilities will include a variety of maintenance duties such as wall repair (Stucco, textured), painting, and supporting the Engineering team with different tasks. Collaboration with colleagues is crucial, so flexibility and a positive mindset are important traits for this position.

  • applying coatings: using brushes, rollers, spray guns, or other equipment to apply under and finish coats of paint
  • maintaining equipment: cleaning, performing routine maintenance, and repairing equipment
  • examining finished surfaces: verifying conformance to specifications and retouching any defective areas
  • conducting detailed assessments to identify areas requiring care and attention
  • replicating existing patterns or crafting new ones to ensure seamless integration of repairs

Requirements

  • experience working in a Maintenance role at a hotel or resort
  • knowledge of 'household' repairs (carpentry, electrical, plumbing, etc.)
  • engaging and welcoming personality

  • ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

  • Paints surfaces, using brushes or paint rollers
  • Smooth surfaces using sandpaper, brushes, or steel wool
  • Remove old paint from surfaces using paint remover, scraper, and wire brush to prepare surfaces for painting
  • Fill nail holes, cracks, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other filler using caulking gun and putty knife
  • Remove fixtures, such as pictures, door knobs, switch/outlet covers, fire alarm covers, etc from walls prior to painting
  • Spread drop cloths over floors, room furnishings, and covers surfaces with masking tape and paper to protect surfaces during painting. Use a ladder to perform tasks above ground level
  • Wash surfaces prior to painting with mildew remover as needed
  • May be assigned to wear a respirator
  • May perform other duties as assigned
