As a painter/sandblaster you will be responsible for applying multiple coats on structural steel shapes and handrails with two component primer, moisture curing urethanes, and epoxies. You will also be asked occasionally to sandblast prior to painting.
Job Responsibility
Applies paint on structural steel products as directed
Assists in maintenance of documentation of materials used including serial number, lot numbers and color
Tracks all paint products by labeling with appropriate project number as directed
Reviews all shop drawings for understanding of specifications for each project
Attains all painting deadlines to meet completion targets
Ensures all painting and blasting equipment is kept clean and in good repair
Ensures that blast cleaning, priming, and painting meet AASHTO, AISC and SSPC and company standards for quality, environment, and safety
Stores pain products within manufactures recommendations
Follow all safety guidelines and procedures as set by the company
Uses proper equipment to maintain a safe working environment
Requirements
Experience as a painter in a manufacturing environment
Ability to understand instructions directly related to painting operations
Ability to follow directions and work occasionally without supervision
Able to work on multiple projects
Must be Legally authorized to work in the United States
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds with regularity
May be required to list up to 100 pounds on occasion
Work in a variety of shop environments including cold or heat
Will be exposed to fumes from paint and pain products
