Job Description:

We’re looking for a skilled Painter & Decorator to join our friendly Maintenance Team, helping us keep our care homes safe, comfortable, and beautifully maintained for the people who live and work in them.

Job Responsibility:

  • Carry out all painting and decorating tasks, including preparation, repair, and finishing of internal and external areas
  • Work safely at height using ladders, scaffolding, and access equipment
  • Keep work areas clean and minimise disruption to residents and staff
  • Support general maintenance tasks (e.g. basic plumbing, tiling, minor repairs)
  • Travel between homes as required to support the maintenance team
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety procedures at all times

Requirements:

  • Robust and high-quality painting and decorating experience with a keen eye for detail
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team, maintaining a high degree of skill and professionalism
  • Ability to work at height
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations
  • Full and clean driving licence

Nice to have:

  • Painting and Decorating Qualification
  • Previous experience within a care setting
  • Knowledge of working with people who live with dementia
  • Previous experience of carrying out general maintenance tasks
  • Good IT skills and knowledge including robust skills in using apps and systems on iPads and other IT equipment
