Job Responsibility:
Read engineering drawings to identify the tasks to be performed in preparation for the application of chemicals and paint to aircraft surface
Apply safety absorbent to hangar floor and spray aircraft surface with stripper to remove all paint
Assist with moving aircraft to appropriate bay
Mask, unmask, and re-mask appropriate areas of aircraft surface to ensure complete protection of windows and other areas susceptible to damage
Remove stripper, excess paint, and/or contaminants using water, solvents, air blower, and/or brushes
Sand, grind, and buff polished areas of aircraft surface, apply putty to body dents, and replace sealer in preparation for the application of primer and paint
Apply Alodine to aircraft surface using spray equipment
Perform touch-up work as required
Document work performed per Inspection Procedures Manual (IPM)
Perform above tasks in support of production, flight test, and other outside areas as required
Assist other employees in the performance of their duties within area(s) of qualification
Requirements:
Experience with preparation and painting aircraft or equivalent (preferred)
Adhere to General Work Requirements
Ability to read engineering drawings
Ability to apply safety absorbent and spray aircraft surface with stripper
Ability to mask, unmask, and re-mask appropriate areas of aircraft surface
Ability to remove stripper, excess paint, and/or contaminants using water, solvents, air blower, and/or brushes
