In this role, you will provide technical support for the Powder & Liquid Pain systems, drive safety improvements and mitigating identified high risks, investigate quality control issues and drive root cause countermeasures using internal and external resources. You will also identify opportunities to execute ideas for process efficiency improvements and use powder coating and electrostatic paint to paint components and products with air electrostatic or air type spray equipment.
Job Responsibility:
Provide technical support for the Powder & Liquid Paint systems
Drive safety improvements and mitigating identified high risks
Investigate quality control issues and drive root cause countermeasures using internal and external resources
Identify opportunities to execute ideas for process efficiency improvements
Use powder coating and electrostatic paint to paint components and products with air electrostatic or air type spray equipment
Knowledge of paint equipment and processes, which may include paint gun repairs, spray application equipment, paint booth equipment, air electrostatic or air type spray equipment, proper paint viscosity and thickness, paint flow and pressure systems, and set-up/break-down of paint equipment
Obtain complete coverage free from blemishes, runs, and sags while maintaining proper film build
Perform coating repairs using hand tools and techniques, accepted touch-up painting application procedures, and applying topcoat paints on parts previously painted
Plan scheduled maintenance activities for both paint systems and maintain accurate records
Maintain equipment in a touch-up booth and decide the proper method and degree of rework needed to provide satisfactory finished units, parts, and assemblies
Monitor pressure in paint delivery system and check specific areas where paint tends to clog and change replaceable parts as directed
Complete systematic setup of painted parts including BOM & routing
Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials and unusual conditions to proper supervision
Maintain work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition
Maintain good housekeeping practices in accordance with company practice and follow all safety and quality requirements/procedures
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
Ability to perform the essential functions of the job including use of Microsoft Suite applications
Proficient in shop math (percentages, fractions, etc.)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Nice to have:
Ability to work >50% on shop floor
Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, ProE, Creo)
Experience generating manufacturing Bill of Materials, routings, and standard (visual) work instructions/SOPs
Hands-on experience and product knowledge with agricultural or construction equipment transmissions (hydraulic systems/drive train) including hands-on troubleshooting with automated testing equipment
