Job Description

Paediatricians diagnose, treat, and prevent paediatric illnesses, while adhering to MSF protocols and hygiene standards. They collaborate closely with hospital departments, train staff, and ensure the quality of care through continuous monitoring and evaluation. Paediatricians make a meaningful impact on the health and well-being of vulnerable people in communities.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide outpatient and/or inpatient paediatric care according to MSF protocols and hygiene standards
  • Collaborate with hospital departments to ensure integrated care and infection control
  • Propose and implement paediatric care strategy modifications
  • Conduct ongoing paediatric training for multidisciplinary team members
  • Inform patients and families about illness and treatment, ensuring understanding
  • Monitor patient evolution, prescribe treatment, and manage discharge or transfer
  • Ensure department functionality, equipment maintenance, and material supply
  • Collect and analyse epidemiological data, reporting any complications or errors
  • Manage team under direct responsibility, including performance supervision and scheduling
  • Design and provide staff training as required
  • Debrief with coordination and provide written reports on activities and recommendations

Requirements

  • Medical Doctor diploma from a recognised university
  • Minimum three years’ experience as a Medical Doctor in a paediatric hospital
  • Proficiency in programme language is essential
  • Computer literacy, including word, excel, and internet usage
  • Updated knowledge of MSF paediatric protocols before each assignment

  • Paediatrics qualification
  • Proficiency in local language
  • Experience in paediatric hospital management
  • Experience with MSF or similar humanitarian organisations
  • Advanced proficiency in computer literacy
