Job Description

Under the direct supervision of the DI/Cardio PACS/RIS Supervisor, the incumbent is to assist with the day-to day operations and maintenance of the clinical imaging systems including Diagnostic Imaging, Cardiology, all associated imaging modalities and the imaging network, including client and server maintenance and other systems as appropriate. This individual will assist the PACS/RIS Supervisor in researching new and further developing existing technologies. Supports the organizations vision, mission, goals and values.

Job Responsibility

  • Assists with the day-to-day operations and maintenance of PACS/RIS and other systems as appropriate to include repair, preventive maintenance and replacement.
  • Assists in the resolution of tickets, voice message and on demand requests in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Escalates and communicates to the DI/Cardio PACS/RIS Supervisor issues beyond the authority of the position in a timely manner.
  • Assists and participates in cross training opportunities for depth and consistency on all systems of responsibility.
  • Acts as a liaison with staff from DI/Cardio as well as other departments and facilities within the organization. Also acts as a liaison with physicians and their staff regarding PACS/RIS trouble shooting and issues.
  • Communicates to the individual, department or office when issues have been resolved or reasons for delays when encountered. Estimated time of resolution is given when delays occur.
  • Works closely with all staff in the DI/Cardio departments to assist in quick resolution of immediate/on demand issues.
  • Works closely with the radiologists to maintain Radiologists PACS workstations both on-site and off-site.
  • Assists in the training of new staff within the DI/Cardio departments on systems of responsibility, granting access when required and assists in the training of current staff when changes occur.
  • Maintains PACS daily work-list clean-up, PACS QA issues and scheduled studies on a daily basis.
  • Assists in identifying potential equipment replacement needs and reports to the DI/Cardio PACS/RIS supervisor for capital consideration.
  • Takes call as required for 24/7 coverage for resolution of issues.
  • Knows fire, disaster and safety procedures and regulations as pertains to the work area.
  • Performs similar duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree or working towards same and/or other Two Year College equivalent. Healthcare, Computer Science or Business preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience
