The Packer is responsible for working on the production floor to manually pack and create product into boxes, trays, and cartons while also completing the final quality inspection of finished goods.
Job Responsibility
Prepare cardboard cartons/trays for product packing by folding, taping, sorting, and labeling cartons
Visual inspection of final product packaging for product integrity
Fill cartons/displays based on packaging specs
Stack correct number of cartons/trays on pallets/skids
Clear loose product from turntable/area
Assist with product rework
Practice and adhere to Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices guidelines
Keep work area clean/adhere to 5S protocols
Store packaging room supplies
Keep work area aisles/exits clear
Remove trash
Perform sanitation tasks
Prepare line for startup and assist with equipment changeovers
May operate tray making and/or stapling machines
Required to be Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) certified
Report issues to Machine Operators, Coordinator, or Supervisor
Pick defects from product stream
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED is preferred, but not required
1-year production experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred, but not required
