The Packer is responsible for working in an area producing product that is packed into trays/cartons for shipping. Prepares cartons/carton displays, manually packs/palletizes product, and completes final quality inspection of finished goods.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare cardboard cartons/trays for product packing by folding, taping, sorting, and labeling
Visual inspections of final product packaging for product integrity
Fill cartons/displays based on packaging specs
Stack correct number of cartons/trays on pallets/skids using correct stacking pattern
Clear loose product from turntable/area
discard defective bags, boxes, trays
Assist with product rework according to plant expectations
Practice and adhere to appropriate safety and hygiene guidelines/procedures
Keep work area clean/adhere to 5S protocols
Store packaging room supplies in designated areas
Keep work area aisles/exits clear and free from obstructions
Remove trash from work area floor
Perform sanitation tasks as directed
Prepare line for startup and assist with any equipment changeovers
May operate tray making and/or stapling machines
Report any issues to Machine Operators, Group Leader, or Supervisor
May perform other duties as required
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED and/or 1-year production experience in a manufacturing environment required
Ability to perform physical requirements including continuous standing, walking, using hands, pushing, pulling, bending, and handling weights up to 50 lbs occasionally
