Job Description:

We offer commercial analytical lab chemistry testing for food and drink, including: nutritional and health, microscopy, biochemistry, allergens, chromatography, packaging, cereals and ingredients, and wines and spirits. We’re looking for a Technician (Packaging) to join our Analytical Services team at our Chipping Campden site. This is a fully on-site role, and due to our rural location, applicants will need to hold a full UK driving license and have their own vehicle. As a Technician, you’ll support packaging projects by preparing samples, carrying out testing, and helping keep our laboratory and equipment running smoothly. You’ll be trained on our methods and supported by experienced colleagues.

Job Responsibility:

  • Preparing samples and carrying out packaging tests following written methods
  • Supporting contract testing projects and research work
  • Maintaining laboratory and pilot plant equipment
  • Keeping accurate records and logs of work carried out
  • Supporting good housekeeping, hygiene and safety in the lab
  • Working closely with scientists and technicians in a small, friendly team

Requirements:

  • A-levels (or equivalent) in Science, Food Technology, or a related subject or relevant practical/lab experience
  • Basic IT skills (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Good communication skills and a willingness to work as part of a team
  • The ability to organise your own work and follow procedures carefully
  • Hold a full UK driving license and have own vehicle
  • Right to work in the UK by the start of employment
