The Packaging Operator is responsible for labeling, inspecting, and packaging final container products using manual and/or automated systems. This role involves operating equipment to package materials, entering data, and ensuring the completeness and accuracy of documentation. Basic troubleshooting of packaging operations is also required.
Job Responsibility:
Operate equipment for packaging materials as per Standard Manufacturing Procedures (SMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
Perform filling, assembling, labeling, and inspecting tasks under general supervision
Set up, operate, and clean production equipment including scales, Integrated Fill Lines (IFL), and shrink-wrap machines
Maintain accurate production records including operation logs, batch history records, and label reconciliation
Communicate effectively with the team regarding the status of products or processes between shifts
Handle materials using appropriate equipment and adhere to safety and housekeeping standards
Identify minor equipment repair needs and troubleshoot basic packaging issues
Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and BD safety and housekeeping policies
Perform additional duties as assigned and work overtime as required
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 1 year of experience in manufacturing or machine operation, preferably in a regulated environment
Experience with equipment set-up, documentation, and manual/routine assignments
Proficient in English with the ability to read, write, and understand charts, diagrams, and perform basic math
Basic computer proficiency, particularly in a Windows environment
Ability to work in a repetitive environment, stand for long periods, and adapt to frequent assignment changes
Strong communication skills to effectively relay product status within the team
Ability to follow established procedures and maintain accurate, neat records
Ability to use independent judgment for decision-making, planning, and problem-solving
Nice to have:
Experience in a regulated environment is preferred but not mandatory
