Job Description:

Are you looking for a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment? We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Packaging Group Team Lead to help us maintain high standards of quality and efficiency in our seed packaging and production processes. As a key member of our team, you will play an essential part in ensuring smooth production operations while maintaining a safe and clean workspace.

Job Responsibility:

  • Supervises, leads, develops, and works with production assistants
  • Ensures seed quality is being maintained by following quality standards
  • Promotes Seedway quality standards to production assistants and technicians
  • Preserves value of seed to minimize loss
  • Promotes team collaboration and creates a unified workplace culture
  • Assists in the packaging of finished seed, mixing seed treatment and tagging
  • Ensures accurate rates of seed treatments are applied
  • Assists in receiving and warehousing and shipping of products
  • Lift and move heavy objects as required
  • Work in a dusty environment, wearing proper safety gear
  • Stay adaptable and focused in a fast-paced production environment
  • Use computer systems to track production and perform tasks

Requirements:

  • Normally requires a high school diploma, or the equivalent thereof, and 2 years or more of agricultural industry related work experience
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
  • Is required to have or work towards getting NYS seed treaters license within one year
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts
  • Basic math skills for measurements and packaging
  • Comfortable working around chemicals and in a dusty environment
  • Able to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks
