Packaging Designer

• Brainstorm and develop innovative packaging designs (primary components and secondary outers) that align with brand DNA and current beauty/retail trends
• Execute technical drawings, dielines, and 3D renderings. Design graphic systems, typography, and layouts that enhance the consumer's tactile and visual experience
• Create and maintain detailed technical specifications, ensuring designs are manufacturable and meet engineering constraints
• Proactively identify and implement eco-responsible materials and manufacturing processes to align with global sustainability goals
• Partner with Marketing, Product Development, and Engineering teams to ensure design intent is maintained from concept through to retail shelf
• Oversee the creation of 3D prints and physical mock-ups. Review prototypes for color, material, and finish (CMF) accuracy and conduct testing for functional quality
• (For Senior roles) Lead design sprints, mentor junior staff, manage external vendor relationships, and oversee the end-to-end product lifecycle for major brand launches

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Packaging Design, Graphic Design, or a related technical field
• 1-8+ years of professional experience in packaging design, specifically within the Beauty and/or Retail sectors (Color Cosmetics, Skincare, or Fragrance experience is highly preferred)
• Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
• Proficiency in 3D modeling and rendering software such as SolidWorks, Rhino, or KeyShot
• Deep understanding of packaging materials (glass, plastic, sustainable resins), printing processes, and decoration techniques (hot stamping, silk screening, metallization)
• A strong professional portfolio demonstrating a range of packaging solutions, including structural forms, graphic applications, and a keen eye for 'luxury' or 'prestige' aesthetics
• Must be able to work on-site in El Segundo, CA, according to the client's hybrid schedule requirements
