Job Description:

As the Packaging Buyer, you'll report directly to the Sales Director and working as part of a small team but with the potential to be a Buying Manager, you will be responsible for sourcing and managing products to meet demand. Your role will be fast-paced and dynamic, requiring strong negotiation skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to build strong supplier relationships.

Job Responsibility:

  • Product & Supplier Management: Take ownership of product categories, negotiate pricing, and manage purchase orders from placement to delivery - including international freight bookings
  • Market Trends & Analysis: Use sales reports and performance indicators to identify new trends and opportunities for product development
  • Sourcing & Negotiation: Build and strengthen relationships with suppliers, negotiate competitive pricing, and ensure our supply chain remains efficient
  • Collaboration Across Teams: Work closely with internal teams to ensure products launch on time and deliveries meet our client's needs
  • Cost Savings & Profitability: Monitor commodity trends and use insights to drive cost savings and improved profits
  • Team Support: Provide direction and guidance to administrative team members to ensure smooth operations

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of Buying/Purchasing experience (preferably within packaging)
  • Strong maths and data analysis abilities with attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills to build supplier relationships
  • A proactive problem solver who can manage workload effectively and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work collaboratively while also taking initiative independently
