Our client, a top personal care manufacturing company is looking for Package Engineering Assistant in Oxford! The successful candidate will have a degree with manufacturing experience.
Job Responsibility:
Provides essential support to engineers and managers for primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging across multiple brands and product workstreams
Conducts laboratory inspections and functional testing to ensure material compliance, documenting and interpreting data to identify deficiencies
Coordinates and documents line trials and production start-ups at manufacturing sites, updating assembly instructions and Bills of Materials (BOMs) based on results
Reviews quality control requirements for new introductions and works directly with suppliers to resolve packaging-related production issues
Manages the preparation and shipment of packaging materials and technical documentation to both internal partners and external stakeholders
Supports special projects involving data validation and lifecycle management, ensuring all product information is accurately updated within internal systems
Requirements:
Requires at least one year of manufacturing experience and an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree (completed or in progress)
Requires the ability to interpret technical drawings and use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, force gauges, and scales
Basic understanding of computer-aided engineering, including 2D drafting, 3D modeling, and tools like Moldflow
Knowledge of quality principles—such as GMP and Statistical Process Control—is essential, alongside familiarity with BOMs, inventory systems, and transit methods
Proficiency in SAP (usage and reporting) is required, in addition to standard office software for presentations, spreadsheets, and databases
Nice to have:
Preference is given to those familiar with primary and secondary packaging for cosmetics, including decorating techniques like silk screening and metallization
