Are you an experienced Rail Planner who is looking for their next role? Do you want to work on the largest rail project in the UK? If so, read more and send your CV if this sounds of interest. We are currently looking for a freelance Planner with experience working on rail contracts to work with a leading Rail and Civil Engineering contractor in Central London. The ideal candidate will have experience planning the work for new stations with experience focused around civil work, track and network rail assets. This is a long term freelance role based in West London and they are looking for candidates who can interview and start on short notice. This role is inside of IR35 and will be paid via Umbrella.

Job Responsibility

  • Ensure planning practices and standards are consistent across each individual project
  • Lead the Plan for stage process including development of robust delivery plans and understand constraints and sequences
  • Responsible for the production and look ahead meeting/process to ensure it is robustly and consistently applied across all projects
  • Proactively produce what-if scenarios to identify delivery improvement opportunities or the development of mitigation plans
  • Ensure the importance of the critical path activities and the sensitivity of the other activities are communicated to the relevant stakeholders and these are being acted on by the delivery team

Requirements

  • Knowledge in working on rail station contracts
  • Advanced skills on Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Planner
  • Ability to communicate the planning strategy for the project to the wider team
