The P&C Insurance Business Analyst role requires a strong background in Property & Casualty insurance and advanced business analysis skills. The role will support transformation programs, product launches, process optimization, and technology initiatives across underwriting, policy, billing, and claims domains.
Job Responsibility:
Lead end‑to‑end business requirements gathering sessions with SMEs and stakeholders
Translate business needs into clear and structured requirements (BRDs, FRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria)
Document target-state business processes, rules, and workflows across P&C functional areas
Ensure requirements are complete, testable, traceable, and aligned to strategic program objectives
Create detailed as‑is and to‑be process flows using industry-standard modeling techniques (e.g., BPMN)
Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for operational improvement
Support design and implementation of streamlined business processes across underwriting, policy servicing, billing, and claims
Apply deep knowledge of P&C insurance operations, terminology, lifecycle, products, and regulatory considerations
Work with underwriting, claims, actuarial, operations, and technology teams to validate requirements
Support configuration or solutioning activities for policy, billing, and claims platforms
Facilitate workshops, interviews, working sessions, and decision-making meetings
Communicate requirements and process insights clearly to business and technical audiences
Maintain strong relationships with client SMEs, product owners, and delivery teams
Assist in backlog refinement, sprint planning, UAT preparation, and defect triage
Ensure solutions delivered meet documented business requirements
Contribute to project governance reporting, status updates, and risk/issue tracking
Requirements:
Strong experience (6–10+ years) working in P&C insurance (underwriting, policy admin, billing, claims, or distribution)
Proven Business Analyst skills: Requirements elicitation and documentation
Process mapping (BPMN or equivalent)
Gap analysis and business rules definition
Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery models
Ability to translate complex business concepts into clear technical requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Finance
Nice to have:
Experience with P&C core systems (Guidewire, Duck Creek, Majesco, etc.)
Familiarity with data flows, integrations, and insurance operational metrics
Certifications such as CBAP, CCBA, Agile BA, CPCU, AINS
