Job Description:

A fantastic secondary school in Tower Hamlets is looking for an academically gifted Oxbridge Graduate Teaching Assistant to join them from September 2026. This is an ideal role for an Oxford or Cambridge graduate who is looking to gain a full academic year of school-based experience before progressing into teacher training. The school is high-achieving, well-led and ambitious for every pupil. They are looking for a graduate who can bring strong subject knowledge, enthusiasm and professionalism to the classroom.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support pupils across KS3 and KS4
  • Work within your degree subject or a closely related department
  • Assist with lesson preparation, classroom support and intervention
  • Deliver targeted small-group sessions
  • Support pupils with academic confidence, organisation and progress
  • Work closely with class teachers and Heads of Department
  • Receive ongoing coaching and training throughout the year

Requirements:

  • A degree from Oxford or Cambridge University
  • A 2:1 or First-Class degree
  • Strong GCSE and A-Level results
  • Excellent subject knowledge
  • A confident and engaging personality
  • A genuine interest in working with young people
  • A long-term goal of becoming a secondary teacher

Nice to have:

Previous school-based experience is desirable but not essential
