Job Description

Seven Horses Transport Ltd. is currently seeking experienced heavy haul, local and deck owner operators. The company specializes in flatbeds, heavy haul, over-dimensional, project management, dry/temp freight, intermodal/container/transload& storage, Hazmat-TDG, rail transportation and air & ocean. Extensive and thorough onsite safety training is provided.

Requirements

  • Class 1 Driver’s license plus a minimum of two (2) years driver’s experience, preferably experience in heavy hauling
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in various types of tractor and trailer configurations
  • Knowledge and mechanical understanding of tractors and trailers
  • Comprehensive understanding in HOS regulations and the National Safety Code
  • Comprehensive understanding FMCSA and NSC regulations
  • Comprehensive understanding in WorkSafe compliance
  • Ability to cross borders on a consistent and regular basis
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing

  • Execute dispatched routes to meet delivery schedules and customer requirements
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure mechanical soundness and compliance with safety standards
  • Adhere to federal, provincial, and local regulations, including hours-of-service, weight limits, and licensing requirements
  • Complete and maintain accurate records and documentation, such as Electronic Logbooks bills of lading, and delivery receipts
  • Provide exceptional customer service by maintaining professional and courteous communication with dispatchers, customers, and other company personnel
  • Take responsibility for the proper securement and handling of cargo during loading, transit, and unloading as required
  • Collaborate with company personnel to ensure efficient coordination of operations, load assignments, and customer satisfaction
  • Maintain your truck and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition and comply with safety and maintenance standards
