The Security Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day security force of the resort to ensure the safety and security of all guests, employees and property. The role includes risk, loss management of the property, supporting workplace safety, life/fire safety systems, and preventing situations that could jeopardize the safety and operation of the hotel. The ideal candidate must have strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Job Responsibility
Assist the Director of Security and Assistant Director of Security with responsibility to ensure the protection of guests, patrons and associates: their property, hotel property, building and grounds
Enforce hotel rules, regulations, and policies as well as the department’s rules, policies and standards
Supervise the day-to-day security force of the property to ensure the safety and security of all guests, personnel and property
Oversee the security office, phone monitoring, CCTV monitoring, vendor/solicitor/visitor access, Salto key control, manage lost and found process, assign master keys and radio/phone to coworkers
Promote safety, awareness and enforcement throughout the hotel to reduce accidents and loss by providing training as required
Initiate and assist with Worker’s Compensation reports
Assist with control of loading dock to facilitate a respectful and pleasant working environment
Provide basic security services, guest and function room lock problems, guestroom safe malfunctions, and guest room doors
Patrol building noting and correcting safety, security and fire hazards
Write comprehensive and accurate incident reports and conducts thorough investigations
Maintain report records, assist and follow up on investigations, and approve reports and logs
Assist in directing security personnel in all aspects of security policy and procedures
Respond to all emergency calls including Emergency Response Team calls
Will assist base building when needed
Display complete knowledge of the Fire/Life system and all support systems, their functions and emergency response procedures
Respond to and mediate all non-emergency security calls, minor injuries, disputes, stressful and complicated issues, etc
Provide First Aid and CPR
Maintain certification for CPR and First Aid given by the hotel
Assist the security manager/director in conducting fire life safety, OSHA required training, TIPS, BBP, Haz-Com, and other safety training
Review all materials concerning daily hotel events to provide accurate information as needed
Conduct VIP escorts in a professional and courteous manner
Be responsible for additional Security duties in the absence of the Director of Security/Security manager
Requirements
High school education or equivalent experience
Average reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language
Proficient in all Microsoft programs to include but not limited to: PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook
Walk long distances during patrolling and stand for long periods of time with a protective post
Nice to have
2 years of experience in law enforcement or security work preferred but not required
