Supports physicians and supervising registered nurses by delivering essential patient care tailored to individual needs, all within the defined scope of practice and under the guidance of the Nurse Director. In addition, operates imaging equipment to capture diagnostic X-rays and CT scans.
Job Responsibility:
Provide direct assistance to patients as directed by the attending nurse or physician
Perform routine clinical tasks such as recording height, weight, and vital signs
initiating IVs
drawing blood
and documenting information to aid in patient care
Carry out physician-ordered diagnostic imaging procedures using X-ray and CT technology in compliance with established protocols
Ensure high-quality imaging results and upload files for interpretation by radiology specialists
Apply correct techniques and safety standards during imaging and laboratory procedures
Communicate lab and imaging results promptly to the nurse or physician
Assist with patient assessments, examinations, and treatments as needed
Support additional care activities, including crutch training, dressing changes, and helping with splint or cast applications
Requirements:
Associate degree in Applied Science or equivalent, plus completion of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program
Minimum of one year of experience in a hospital or emergency care setting as a Radiology Technologist
ARRT certification required
CPR/BLS certification required
Active Texas Radiologic Technologist license from the Department of State Health Services
Solid understanding of human anatomy and physiology
Familiarity with current imaging practices and X-ray technology
Ability to learn and perform quality control checks, operate computerized imaging systems, and maintain accurate electronic records
