Job Description:

The Overnight General Maintenance Engineer is responsible for maintaining the overall condition, safety, and functionality of the hotel during overnight hours. This role performs preventive and corrective maintenance on guestrooms, public areas, and back-of-house systems to ensure uninterrupted operations and exceptional guest comfort in a luxury airport hotel environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Perform routine and emergency maintenance on guestrooms, public areas, banquet spaces, and back-of-house facilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, and basic carpentry issues
  • Respond promptly to overnight service calls and guest maintenance requests
  • Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and complete assigned work orders accurately and efficiently
  • Monitor building systems including HVAC, boilers, chillers, lighting, and fire/life safety equipment
  • Ensure all repairs are performed in compliance with safety standards and local regulations
  • Document completed work and maintain accurate logs in the hotel’s maintenance system
  • Assist with minor painting, drywall repair, fixture replacement, and furniture repairs
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean and organized condition
  • Support overnight safety procedures and respond to emergencies as needed
  • Collaborate with Security and Front Office teams during overnight incidents or guest-related concerns
  • Follow all Hyatt policies, engineering standards, and safety protocols

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1–2 years of general maintenance experience in a hotel, commercial building, or similar environment
  • Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and technical manuals
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to lift moderate weight and perform physically demanding tasks
  • Basic computer skills for maintenance tracking systems
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, any day, including holidays and weekends
  • Must be able to work the overnight shift- 3 PM-11:30 PM or similar

Nice to have:

  • Experience in a full-service or luxury hotel is preferred
