Job Description:

Valbruna ASW Inc., the premier specialty steel-making facility located in Welland, ON, has an immediate requirement for an Overhead Crane Operator. Reporting to the Melt Shop Supervisor.

Job Responsibility:

  • Operates overhead cab cranes to lift, move, transport and position material/equipment safely, effectively and responsibly in a heavy industrial environment
  • Completes inspection reports and maintain housekeeping of cranes being operated
  • Observes and adheres to all safety policies and procedures, including wearing PPE
  • Performs all other tasks and duties associated with the job

Requirements:

  • High Secondary Diploma or Equivalent
  • Demonstrates at least 3 years of crane experience or operating heavy equipment in a steel manufacturing environment
  • Shows an understanding of cranes and the ability to work within precise limits and standards of accuracy (lifting capabilities, weight restrictions, etc.)
  • Must be able and willing to work a variety of shifts, including nights as well as overtime as required
  • Proven ability to learn new things and be flexible in response to changing requirements in a fast-paced environment
  • Exhibits a strong attention to detail in all areas of work
  • Takes initiative and is able to work independently or as part of a team
