Job Description:

Material Support / Overhead Crane Operator to safely and efficiently support manufacturing operations by moving products, equipment, and materials using cab-operated overhead cranes and material handling equipment. This role ensures accurate material flow, maintains equipment safety standards, and supports timely delivery of high-quality products to customers.

Job Responsibility:

  • Perform a variety of material support activities that ensure the timely delivery of products to the customer
  • Perform tasks such as product conveyance, operation of material handling equipment, overhead crane, material support machinery and clerical/record keeping activities involving material flow of goods and parts
  • Perform all tasks involved in moving product, tools, tooling, equipment and support equipment related to overhead crane
  • Perform a variety of activities including using power or hand operated tools and equipment
  • checking hardware and tools for visible damage
  • opening containers and identifying weight and count of contents
  • verifying the quality of hardware
  • Operate all types of information systems required to perform assigned tasks
  • Utilize proper equipment and devices to ensure that parts, equipment and all structures are appropriately protected
  • Check the condition of the material handling and associated equipment or devices before and after operation
  • Report malfunctioning and unsafe equipment
  • Verify unit numbers, part count and similar information of in-process material
  • Effectively communicate with management staff, support functions, employees, vendors and outside shipping personnel
  • Train other employees in the same job classification as requested or required

Requirements:

  • Able to work at extreme heights (no fear of heights)
  • Able to bend, squat or stoop for extending period of time
  • Able to climb flights of stairs and walk extensive distances
  • Willing and able to work any shift, including alternative work weeks
  • Must pass the WorkKeys Assessment or provide verification
  • Two forms of identification for WorkKeys Assessment

  • Crane operation: Mobile Crane, Tower Crane, Fixed Crane, Bridge Crane, Cab operated Crane
  • Construction experience: Working from heights, Working Around Heavy Equipment, Oil Field
  • Heavy equipment experience: Skid steer, Forklift, Backhoe, Tractor, Bulldozer, Excavator, Directional Boring, Pulling Units
  • Rigging experience: Hook tending, Rigging Loads to Move
