This is a senior managerial role providing day-to-day leadership and ensuring high-quality service delivery at the Welbeck Centre. The role involves overseeing the day-to-day organisation and management of outpatient consultations, diagnostics and treatment within the outpatient suite, including the phlebotomy service. It requires oversight of clinical practice, resource management, clinician engagement, safe staffing provision and financial management, to ensure the centre meets all regulatory requirements and safety standards. The manager will work with clinicians, the senior leadership team and other department colleagues to drive the strategic direction of the centre and develop the services offered by the outpatient department.
Job Responsibility:
Provide clinical and managerial leadership to outpatient nursing services
Ensure safe, effective, and compassionate patient care across multiple specialties
Lead, develop, and performance-manage a multidisciplinary team
Oversee workforce planning, recruitment, training, and appraisals
Manage departmental budgets and ensure efficient use of resources
Maintain compliance with CQC standards, governance, and safety frameworks
Drive service improvements through audits, quality assurance, and innovation
Act as key liaison with clinicians, patients, families, and stakeholders
Support strategic planning, business development, and service expansion
Requirements:
Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration
Right to Work in the UK
Proven leadership experience in a senior nursing or clinical management role
Experienced working within an outpatient setting
Previous experience implementing new services and/or new patient pathways in an outpatient setting will be highly advantageous
Strong understanding of clinical governance and patient safety
Experience of CQC inspections and/or readiness
Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence, coach and develop others
Excellent organisational skills
Commercial awareness and business development will be advantageous
